I just had to rush Ben to the shelter after he began abnormally crying in pain when picked up, exhibited some breathing difficulties and then fell over on his side. To say that I am in a blind panic is probably an understatement. When kittens do that, it usually means…well, it doesn’t mean anything even remotely good. By the time we got to the shelter, though, he was sitting up again and had stopped panting. Which is obviously very good news. However, he will need to go to the vet to find out what’s wrong with him. We won’t know anything for a few hours at least. Let’s hope he just needs some meds and TLC.

I forget how easily these little creatures can break your heart.

UPDATE: Benny is home now. He has pneumonia. Poor little boo. He’s on meds…let’s hope they work.
