Get Your Fix Early
Starbucks will temporarily close all its stores today from 5:30pm to 8:30pm for barista training or some such shit. Just thought I’d let you know. I actually have a client meeting at Starbucks later today. Should I pick up my douchebag trophy now or will it be mailed?
A Surprise In The Mail!
The geekboy came home from work yesterday and brought in the mail. Included was a big box from Amazon. I opened it up and found:

Frickin’ Ticketmaster
Not like this is news or anything, but Ticketmaster and corporate-owned arenas can suck it. What the hell is a “convenience charge,” anyway? I should be charging THEM for convenience. I don’t find it “convenient” being forced to step over vomiting teens in order to use the bathroom. Nor do I find it “convenient” to purchase lawn tickets but not be allowed to choose where on the lawn I’d like to sit. And does anyone really find it “convenient” to pay $8 a cup for domestic beer?
Having said that, I’m going to see The Police + Elvis Costello this summer.

2008 Academy Awards
Last night was our annual Academy Awards party. As usual, a good time was had by all. This year, Janet took home the trophy for Most Correct Picks. Congratulations! We also played Oscar Bingo, and Charlotte emerged victorious. She won a copy of Celebutantes, a book I’m currently enjoying.
