Obama’s Comments on State of the Union
“Each year, as we watch the State of the Union, we see half the chamber rise to applaud the President and half the chamber stay in their seats. We see half the country tune in to watch, but know that much of the country has stopped even listening. Imagine if next year was different. Imagine if next year, the entire nation had a president they could believe in. A president who rallied all Americans around a common purpose. That’s the kind of President we need in this country. And with your help in the coming days and weeks, that’s the kind of President I will be.”
The above statement nails it. This morning, I was feeling guilty for not giving a turd about Bush’s last State of the Union. I could barely muster the energy to read reactions to it. Thank you, Bush, for killing my patriotism. Nice work.

Party’s Over, Mostly
So our party this weekend was a great success. Obviously I’m getting old, as I awoke yesterday morning with no hangover and no regrets from the night before, and didn’t even get drunk enough to do drunk blogging! Who AM I? We all had so much fun, and one point late in the evening I was laughing so hard that I almost fell on the floor. Maggie & Jeremy just hit the road home. We miss them already…my sister is here with me today and we hope to catch up with Beth later on this evening.
Right now I have to do some work, so I gotta go. Look for some photos tomorrow, perhaps.

If everything goes according to plan, I’ll see my sister and Freakniece #2 in two hours! Woot!
Crazy Busy
Darlings, I am so busy, I may not get the chance to post much over the next few days. I do apologize. I have a couple work-related things simmering in the background and I must tend to them. Also, FreakSis and FreakNiece #2 fly into town tomorrow morning, and the Canadians arrive tomorrow afternoon, and we’re throwing a big Open House party on Saturday…I’m in a tizzy. There is so much fun on my horizon, I can barely handle it.
So, the old standby – What Are You Wearing? Today I’m decked out in this J.Jill shirt, a cupcake necklace (thanks, Lisa!), brown tights, brown clogs and, in honor of last night’s Project Runway, a long denim skirt. I swear it doesn’t look as dumb as it sounds. And you?
