Freecycle is such fun. I’ve been watching it like a hawk for the past couple of days, hoping to score an old fridge for our new garage. Today I offered up some stuff from the back of our closet – a mixed lot of 140 cassette tapes; 80s new wave and pop and other odd stuff mixed in. We also have a wooden wall holder for the tapes. I got a response literally five minutes after the offer was posted. Who is the person sitting there, maybe hitting “refresh” over and over, waiting for that ultimate score, the booty of cassette tapes? I suppose I’ll find out later today.

Pop Candy at Comic-Con

I’ve been reading Pop Candy all weekend, with Whitney’s updates from Comic-Con. Good stuff. I wish our NYC con experience had been that awesome…although it sounds like the San Diego Con also suffered from overcrowding.

So Tired

So, Friday night I saw Clerks II. Soooo good. Surprisingly touching at times, shockingly filthy at others. Loved it. Trevor Fehrman is my new hero [article may contain spoilers]. Mewes looks fantastic and did a great job as usual. And listen, any movie with a dance number is a-okay in my book.

For the rest of the weekend, we packed. And packed and packed. The geekboy worked his ass off getting the office packed up. I spackled up the dozens of holes in the walls, sanded them down and re-painted over them wherever I could. I still have more to do, but it’s a good start. The guest bathroom is now empty and resembles an echo chamber. We gave our entertainment unit to our neighbors, so that’s out of the way. Next on the list is starting to pack the dishes. Ugh. Later this morning we’re going to the attorney’s to pre-sign the papers on the sale of this place.
