Facial and Frames

Well, I just got back from my first facial. It was fun. Although I asked her to see if she could extract a couple of blackheads, and that hurt like hell. She told me that I need to stop using the St. Ives; that it’s tearing my face apart. Megan told me the same thing a few weeks back when I was complaining about my skin. So – validation for Megsy! I’ve been using it for about 20 years; I guess it’s time to make some changes, huh? I’ve also been forced to end my lifelong boycott against liquid foundation when the salon lady showed me some of this. She also cleaned up my eyebrows at no charge. I was $3 short of the total (I forgot my checkbook!) and she let me slide. I need to get back there with a tip. I’m there all the time, anyway, and she knows that. Maybe I’ll bring her a little gift next visit.

I also went and picked up my new eyeglasses. They look pretty good, although not as thick as I had remembered. No biggie. The best part of that trip was that, along with my eyeglasses, in the customer tray was a $45 check made out to ME from the eye doctor. I had totally forgotten that when I went to get my exam for contacts back in November, I brought an expired insurance form. So I just paid cash, telling her I would come back some other time with the right form. I never did, but I did bring a new form when I ordered the frames. And this crazy lady remembered, and applied it to my past exam. So, even though I shelled out $40 for the frames last week, I’ve actually ended up $5 ahead. Not too shabby. As her assistant said, “Sweet.” And that’s the story of my morning. You’re welcome.

Port Vale soccer club

Robbie Williams bought a stake in the Port Vale soccer club. This affects my life in no way whatsoever, but I am required by law to report any Robbie-related news.
