As fall does indeed approach, I’ve been coveting thin, fuzzy scarves. Since I learned how to do some basic knitting, I figure I can make a few cheapies for myself. I got some yarn today and I’m very excited. Anyone have advice for knitting with eyelash-type yarn? I’m going to look for a pattern; I imagine I’ll want something that’s rather loose. (Every time I post something about knitting, I get totally insecure that my knitting teacher is sitting at her computer, tsk-tsking over my bad decisions. Yeah, I’ve got issues.)

Man, I’ve got nothing to say or post today, really. Megan and I were just discussing the rather shocking discovery that tomorrow is October. My summer was so wrapped up in wedding planning that it just disappeared on me. I like fall, but I don’t have any cute fall clothes. My closet is a disaster. Oh, woe is me, my problems are just so huge. So, la la la.

Al Franken challenges Bill O’Reilly to a bowling match. I don’t know why that cracks me up, but it does.

Can you pass the third grade? My first attempt at this was humiliating. I imagine my three-year-old niece could have beaten me. How did YOU do? (Janet – we can use this to practice for our election night map coloring!)

Last night I had dinner with the lovely and talented Beth, who gave me an early birthday gift – a pocketbook embroidered with the words “Mrs. Affleck.” It is truly fabulous. She also gifted me with a link to this tragi-hilarious photograph. Read the caption and tell me if you notice anything interesting.

Today is the geekboy’s birthday! It’s our first birthday as husband and wife; which doesn’t feel much different, but I guess is kind of cool. I gave him a big fat watch and wrote him the Worst Poem Ever; let’s hope he likes them. Anyhow. All of you that know him understand what a wonderful person he is. I feel blessed every day that he came into my life; not only did he come into my life, he stayed in my life. He treats me like a human being; he listens to me and respects me. He makes me laugh every single day. And he loves me. Which is quite nice, as I totally love him back. So happy birthday, geek. I’ll see you tonight!
