Lately, I cannot get enough sleep. I don’t know what’s wrong with me; is it the change of seasons? Am I dying? I was exhausted every minute throughout this weekend. It was hell getting up this morning, and I already want to go back to bed. Gah. Help me. Anyway, kids, you probably won’t be hearing from me again until Thursday. I have to fly out to Ohio for a quick business trip (look at me, I’m all professional and shit) early tomorrow and will be back late Wednesday. Try not to miss me too much. I know it’s hard.

So this weekend we saw Jersey Girl, of course. It was good! Not his greatest film. But an enjoyable little movie. Affleck and the rest of the cast did a nice job. Stephen Root shows up as a bizarrely hilarious character, by the way. As the review notes, the end of the movie hit the schmaltz-o-meter. As the credits rolled, the woman in front of us yelled, “Well, THAT was a STUPID ending!!!” because it didn’t end with a wedding. I’m not sure what else she was expecting…perhaps ponies, rainbows and a bunch of balloons falling from the ceiling?

We also rented Pieces of April this weekend. It was just lovely – I can’t recommend it enough. See it.
