For all of you who had a crush on Luke Perry (and you know you did), he’s single again!

“…with the war in its waning hours, all is quiet on the western coast — leading conservatives to suggest that Garofalo and her fellow travelers are in full retreat from a public backlash and feeling chastened by a swift American victory.“ Oh, sod off. I’m sick and tired of all the I-told-you-so bullcrap I’ve been hearing from the conservative media. It’s not over. Talk about being short-sighted.

I’m taking the Iraq banners off the site for now, because the war has pretty much already happened. I will still keep updating with my obnoxious opinions, though, don’t worry.

Yesterday we went to CHILLER, with Snarkcake, Greater Czarina, and her hubby. I’ve never been to any sort of convention before, and a horror convention to boot…well, it was interesting. Janet referred to it as a “celebrity petting zoo,” and that’s EXACTLY what it was. They fill up hotel rooms with these B-list celebrities, and they wait for you to come and buy a signed photo or something. It was just quite odd, walking into a room and seeing the guy from Weekend at Bernie’s palling around with some geek.
Highlights included my incredibly immature reaction upon seeing Lorenzo Lamas – I really hate that guy. I wanted to go up to him and tell him how hot he’s not, but I just didn’t have the balls. I am pleased to report that he’s small and not that built. Brad Dourif looked as scary as he does every time I see him in a movie, but seemed nice. Dee Wallace Stone was adorable, and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for her for starring in E.T. Janet nearly plotzed when we saw Glenn Shadix, who turned out to be the nicest person we met all day, I think. The geekboy was psyched to get a glimpse of Virginia Hey, and that pretty much explains his nickname. Definitely the highlight of my visit was meeting Scott L. Schwartz (NOT Scotty Schwartz), who has been in so much stuff that I’m sure you all know him. The reason I liked him was because I was standing at his table, looking at his publicity pictures, and saw the one where he beats up Clooney in Ocean’s 11. I said, “Dude. How psyched were you to get to punch George Clooney in the face?” And he replied, “That’s nothing. I got to punch SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR in the face. Heh heh heh.” And just like that, he became my hero.
Here is a picture of my best souvenir from the show. And here’s a scan of a pic that Janet found and we both ended up having to buy. Check out Woody. He hates his career.

Netflix sent us Secretary this weekend. Is it weird for me to say that it’s one of the most romantic movies I’ve ever seen?

More J.Lo hate. Aside from running into a burning orphanage and saving a bunch of babies and kittens, I don’t know how she’s ever going to make the world love her again.

The Tribeca Film Festival starts next week. There are so many films and panels to choose from; I don’t even know what to do. I want to try to catch Down With Love, but sales seem to be “on hold” for now. Missy, you’re always up on the newest and most interesting films. Any recommendations?

Did anyone catch Madonna on Will and Grace last night? I love Madonna; she’s awesome. But girlfriend cannot act. Yeep.
