Beach. The flies down here are plentiful and evil. They want me to die. They want to bite me and take me out and drop me in the bay. I will kill them all. There will be mass murder in this house and I will string up all their little hairy bodies. Other than that, things are splendid. The house is crowded but fun. It’s beautiful here. We have five computers and about 150 cellphones. It’s so silly. Last night we ate pasta with veggies and drank beer on the porch. And played Mad Libs. This morning the geekboy and I went walking on the beach. He went swimming and the sea is filled with eagle rays. Everyone says they’re beautiful but I won’t be going in there. I have some work to do this afternoon, so goodbye for now.

Well, the geekboy and I have packed up the car to its bursting point. Fans, blankets, pillows, enough food for an army, clothes, towels, sunscreen, a zillion MP3s, a carton of cigarettes and a full tank of gas. Really, does life get any better? I don’t think so. More later.

Good weekend. Friday we did…NOTHING! Yay. Saturday we went shopping at Target for odds and ends for beach vacation. Somehow I also ended up with two Hello Kitty carmats. I don’t know. They just jumped in the cart. Later that night we took some friends out to dinner for hibachi (yum), then to a bar for some beers, then back home for more drinks and chatting. Good times. Yesterday I spent most of the day ripping MP3s to bring down to the beach. I also downloaded about 40 songs, all with the word “beach,” “summer,” “sun,” or “ocean” in the title. WOOP!

I left the two cats together for five minutes while I went outside. When I came back, Miss Joan was sitting in the window here in my home office, acting like nothing had happened. Meena, on the other hand, was crouching in the living room with black grease all over her head. I think I’ve figured out what happened. Joan started chasing Meena, who then started to fight back. Joan turned on her again and frightened Meena, who then ran into and then tried to run under my bike. Her head scraped against the chain. The chain is off the bike, with bits of white fur in it. Meena has black marks and a little tiny bald spot on the top of her head. She’s fine, though. Just pissed off. These animals are going to give me a stroke, I swear to christ.
