Cholula Hot Sauce
Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 12:18pmRight now, I am obsessed with Cholula hot sauce. I eat it on macaroni and cheese, and I just now doused my entire fake chicken patty with it. I want more! The past few months, I cannot get enough spicy food. Do you think it has anything to do with quitting smoking or am I just going through a phase?

Oh honey, if you think Cholula rocks, you simply must try our homemade Serenity Sauce (”It’s Gorram Hot”…only Whedon geeks will get it). Have we not given you any? Jeez! We’ll fix that. I always found Cholula too salty. Serenity will hook up your mac and cheese in a most bodacious manner.

We have some! The geekboy LURVES it…I like it too, but my unsophisticated palate also loves the extra salt in Cholula. We have a few different kinds of sauce in the fridge that we rotate through.

When I first read the description i saw “… Cholula’s unique spiciness is a blend of penquin and red peppers …” and thought, hey what??
And what do they mean by this: “The unusual wooden cap also has a variety of uses”? Do they mean it is to be used as a measuring cup and stopper?

Mmmmm, salt.
Good catch on the wooden cap statement; I didn’t even notice that. What the hell? It’s a cap. It prevents hot sauce from being all over my floor. End of story.

I’ve heard that quitting smoking enhances the sense of taste, and that smokers prefer stronger flavors. Perhaps your tongue is saying something along the lines of, “Oh, so this is what spicy is supposed to be. Want!”

btw, I love that “Want” and “Do Not Want” have entered our lexicon. We saw an ad for something on television last night, can’t remember what, but I do remember yelling, “DO NOT WANT!”
On that same tip, “mah bucket” walrus died.

I LOVE Cholula. It’s so much better than that Tapatio stuff. I put in in my hamburger meat before it hits the grill. It’s great on eggs, too. MMMMMmmmmmm.

Yep, I had it on egg whites this morning. Is there anything Cholula can’t do?

Yes it does have something to do with not being a smoker anymore
One of the many, many benefits, of being a non smoker, food tastes better, your tastebuds are alive again and you are digging the hot sauce…like the very first time.
I am an ex-smoker, 13 years, and I LOVED smoking.
Keep up the great work!

I went out to dinner w/my friend Laura tonight and there was this adorable covered patio outside with big cushioned chairs, and I said to her, “When I see a lovely patio like that, I want to sit there and smoke.” She said to me, “I don’t even think of you as a smoker anymore,” and I said, “I do. Almost every day.”
