Bush says he gave up golf for the troops. I guess it’s only fair, since many of the troops have given up limbs or even their lives for him. What a guy.
The gesture is not only insulting but also ridiculous, proven by the fact that he needed to actually tell the press about it. 251 days left.

I cannot even believe this is a possibility. The State of NJ wants to close nine state parks. NINE. (Central Jerseyans - Round Valley is included in these nine.) I understand there is a budget crisis, but closing some of the only open space in New Jersey, a place where open spaces are far and few between? And potentially introducing the privatization of state parks? Do you really want to go mountain biking at the Coors Light Reservoir? Find out more and get involved here.
Remember RIF? Reading Is Fundamental? It’s something I remember clearly from my childhood — I grew up with a love of reading passed on to me by my parents and greatly nurtured in school with programs like RIF. Sadly, Bush wants to eliminate RIF’s funding.
Understandable, I suppose, since he’s an illiterate jackass. Find out how you can help. I’ve already gotten in touch with my state reps. You can even have your kids write letters. They must be mailed by the end of May, so do it now.
Bush is sending everyone in America a check, presumably to stimulate the economy. Problem is, the economy is so bad right now that most people are going to use their checks to pay off debt, which won’t stimulate anything. I understand fiscally why governments do this, but with Bush & Co. it just smacks of, “Here’s some cash! Don’t forget to vote Republican!” You can bet your ass I’m going to spend that money, though — I’m not an idiot. But I’d like to spend it in the most Bush-offensive way possible. How are you going to spend yours?

I don’t care who he is or what state he represents - he’s got my vote.
“Each year, as we watch the State of the Union, we see half the chamber rise to applaud the President and half the chamber stay in their seats. We see half the country tune in to watch, but know that much of the country has stopped even listening. Imagine if next year was different. Imagine if next year, the entire nation had a president they could believe in. A president who rallied all Americans around a common purpose. That’s the kind of President we need in this country. And with your help in the coming days and weeks, that’s the kind of President I will be.”
The above statement nails it. This morning, I was feeling guilty for not giving a turd about Bush’s last State of the Union. I could barely muster the energy to read reactions to it. Thank you, Bush, for killing my patriotism. Nice work. Read the rest of this entry »
