Samples & Cover Songs
Some things stick in your mind forever, whether you want them to or not. This past summer, I was visiting Maggie & Jeremy and we heard that awful song “I Know You Want Me” by Pitbull. And Maggie kept saying, “I know this is a sample, I know this is a sample,” but we couldn’t figure it out. It haunted me to this day. So today I came across this website called WhoSampled. It lists songs and samples and who sampled who and all that. And I found out that Maggie was right, “I Know You Want Me” DOES feature a sample, and here it is.
Hoping this site brings all of you some peace of mind from songs that drive you nuts.
So This is What I Do Now
A lot of people ask me what I’ll be doing at my new job. I tell them I’ll be doing instructional design, along with some editing. Most people say, “And…erm, what is instructional design?” I turned to the Google to see if I could find a straightforward explanation. Why bother creating an explanation myself when someone else has already done so? (Rule #1 of my personal adult learning theory, btw.) Anyway, this is a great definition of instructional design. So now you know.
Sorry the Blog Has Been Slow
I know I haven’t been blogging too often lately. As I make all these huge changes in my life, I’m finding myself with less time on my hands. Or I’m finding that I sometimes have days where I can’t bring the funny or the entertainment. Soon the good days will outweigh the bad — it’s just tough to find my footing now, with the holidays coming up. Also, next week I start a new freelance gig that’s going to take up all my time. I won’t be working at home anymore and the blog will probably suffer until I figure out how to manage my time. I will try to keep it up, though. Just wanted to let you know, darlings, that I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m just trying to get my life in order. Hugs, kisses and cupcakes!
