Bush Tries To Buy Our Respect
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 08:19amBush is sending everyone in America a check, presumably to stimulate the economy. Problem is, the economy is so bad right now that most people are going to use their checks to pay off debt, which won’t stimulate anything. I understand fiscally why governments do this, but with Bush & Co. it just smacks of, “Here’s some cash! Don’t forget to vote Republican!” You can bet your ass I’m going to spend that money, though — I’m not an idiot. But I’d like to spend it in the most Bush-offensive way possible. How are you going to spend yours?

Happy Earth Day!
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 08:12am
Today is Earth Day. Do something to benefit the planet today. It doesn’t have to be a big deal — maybe recycle a water bottle or remember to turn off the lights when you leave the room. I plan to walk to the library to return my books instead of drive. What are YOU going to do?

Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 08:13amWow. You almost thought that Castro would rule Cuba forever. Although, with Raúl ready to take over, he just might. Upon hearing the news, Bush stated, “The United States will help the people of Cuba realize the blessings of liberty.” Sigh. Maybe Cuba should ask the people of Iraq how much of a blessing liberty has been to them.
Writer’s Strike Over
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 09:39amCongratulations to the writers, the strike is over and everyone can go back to work. Here’s a list of what you can expect from your favorite shows. I didn’t realize until last night, watching a repeat on TBS, how much I miss The Office.

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 at 08:15amYour Tax Dollars At Work
Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 08:40amI’ve been avoiding blogging about the whole Britney mess, because that’s what it is, a MESS, and it’s sad and tragic and yadda yadda. But I’m reading this story about how she was once again hospitalized last night, and I come across this little piece of info: “[the] plan to hospitalize Spears…was so intricate that the Federal Aviation Administration had to be contacted to clear airspace on the route to the hospital.”
Are you kidding me? So next time I have a nervous breakdown, can I expect the same treatment? Is the way we treat celebrities not just A WEE BIT OUT OF CONTROL? Ugh.
