So yeah, I threw a surprise party for the geekboy over the weekend. I’ve been planning it since early in the summer, and was so glad that Maggie and Jeremy were able to come. Their visit also made him totally clueless about the party; he figured that they were his birthday surprise. The freaknieces called the other night to wish Geekboy a happy birthday. They are too cute. When Freakniece #2 got on the phone, she asked me repeatedly if I was going to come over. Actually, what she said was, “YOU COME TO MY HOUSE YES?” She is killing me. I finally said, “Why don’t you come visit our house?” and after a pause, she plaintively bleated, “BUT I DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!” She asked the geekboy if he was going to have cake (”YOU HAVE CAKE?”) and he told her that Aunt Freakgirl had baked a carrot cake. She then handed the phone off to my brother-in-law, informing him, “UNCLE GEEKBOY HAVE CAKE AND ALSO A CARROT!”

Oh, HELL YES.

Today is the geekboy’s 40th birthday! Can you believe it? He still looks like a kid. My goal today is to get 40 comments/40 nice things written about the geekboy. I’ll start!

Last night we quietly celebrated the geekboy’s birthday. I gave him a few PSP-related gifts, which seemed to go over quite well. We had cake, some beer for him, some wine for me, and just hung out on the new couches and watched Thursday night tv. We’re going to the city on Monday for shopping and a show, so we decided to be low-key last night. Anyway, for dinner I made the best linguine and clams I’ve ever made. Today is the geekboy’s birthday! Hooray! Yesterday was Yeti’s birthday as well. Happy birthday, guys!

Tonight the birthday boy will get his favorite homemade dinner of linguine and clams, followed up with chocolate cake. Mmmm. I’m drooling just thinking about it. Hopefully it will all turn out delicious. Today is also exciting for another reason - our new couches are set to be delivered this afternoon. Can’t wait. Last night I had a nightmare that Long Legs escaped while the guys were bringing in the new couches. I’ll be locking him up today.
