I actually called LLBean last week to ask them to remove me from their list. I have gotten at least 20 different catalogs from them, LL Bean Home, LL Bean Men, LL Bean for the person who has everything etc. They were happy to oblige.
Except what did I do yesterday? Ordered a pair of snow boots from them, so I’m sure I’ll right back in their clutches! GRR!

Why don’t mail-order/web-order companies give you an “opt-out of catalog mailings” choice when you’re sending in your order? I always check the box for them to not email me, but I’ve never gotten the choice to refuse catalogs.
There are a few I don’t mind getting from time to time, though.

Sandyjoys - That happens to me all the time. I have opted out of the Victoria’s Secret catalog a billion times but whenever I place an order (just cotton panties guys - don’t get too excited
I am right back on their list to get a 5 catalogs a day. Why can’t they figure out that I always order online and don’t want a paper catalog!

(I have no idea what that emoticon is. I intended to have a wink followed by a closing parenthesis)

Too funny. I think the emoticon, however unintentional, works well here. It’s the “hee hee” emoticon, which is a semi-colon followed by 2 parentheses.

Yeah, something to keep in mind when using emoticons on this site — you might want to make sure there’s a space on either side, to avoid sending an unintentional (and perhaps inappropriate) message.
