Yay! As good as that is, really it was all just a show put on by the creepy Conservatives. They knew it wouldn’t pass and did it just to get it out of the way and show the people of Canada they “tried” to change one of the only good things the Federal Liberal Gov actually did while they were in power. Again, they knew they couldn’t reneg on it and were just going through the motions so when election time comes around they can say, well, at least we made the effort to change it! I very much dislike Stephen Harper. I love my country for changing the law and am happy to say we recently attended the wedding of our friends Andrew and Christopher. I just hope one day soon your country will follow and I know it will eventually. It has to!

That’s nice to think, Sandra, about the US eventually following, but i fear that the evolution of that will never happen, because of the whole “denial of the facts of evolution” is up there with “denial of the facts about equality.”
i certainly hope this country can change, and AZ made the first move to prevent another initiative banning gay marriage, but not a lot about the US gov’t makes me hopeful for much of anything but policies of hate and war.
but i’ll try to be positive, I’ll hope, as we all do, that this country can change.
(btw, FG, thansk for the eaulity vid the other day. I am still thinking about the power of the simple and just message)

One thing that makes me a little optimistic is that I believe there are a lot of people who don’t understand this has nothing to do with their church. That may be either naive or arrogant on my part, but I really think there’s a significant percentage who don’t get it and if they did, they would feel differently.
Still, my new master plan is that when I’m skiing at Whistler over Christmas, I’m gonna lasso me a hot, swarthy Canadian to marry and then never come back.

Canada loves Michael and his swarthy new husband.

Is your new husband Jonathan Antin?
Whose sister is in the Pussycat Dolls! Full circle.
Swarthy, yes, but not Canadian, is he? Plus, there’s only room for one jackass in this marriage.
