Please click through to read a guest post from our friend Frank.

Hi all,

I’m Frank, a friend of Freakgirl’s, and first I want to thank freakgirl for allowing me to write this post. I’m here to ask for your assistance. As some of you already know, I am a volunteer for the Arc of Hunterdon County, NJ, a non-profit that works with adults with developmental disabilities. I was asked to Chair this year’s Step Up for the Arc Walkathon — a fundraiser for the Arc of Hunterdon to help offset some of the costs for their recreation program.

The walk will be held July 26 at Deer Path Park in Flemington. Through the recreation program, consumers take part in a variety of activities such as square dancing, bowling, and a variety of day trips throughout New Jersey. And, while the consumers do pay for a portion of their trip the funds raised helps to offset that gap between what the activity costs and what is charged to the consumer. This is where you come in. Please take a few moments and go to our website www.archunterdonevents.org to learn more about the Arc, our upcoming walkathon, register for the walk if you’re local to Hunterdon County, and — donate to the Arc. All the money raised is used right in Hunterdon County, NJ .

*** There is an incentive going on within the Arc in which the Arc employee who raises the most money will get two extra vacation days. So, if you do donate, please enter Joann C. as the walker you’re sponsoring and select “Yes” to the Arc employee box. This will help direct your contribution to her total to win the vacation days. Trust me, she needs them. ***

Also, I would like to take a moment to thank Ferd, M@, and Charlie B for their work in creating the website. Without their assistance online donations wouldn’t be possible.

Note from Freakgirl: ARC is a great organization. They’ve done great things for the community as well as for my own brother. It would mean a lot to have your support.
