Brain Dump

I’ve nothing to post about this morning, so here’s a cartoon that never fails to crack me up. I was going to do a Roundup of Rage today, but to be honest, I don’t have the energy. Maybe tomorrow. Because, trust me, there is plenty of rage to go around. I have spent the entirety of this week waiting to hear about an interview…a consulting firm has submitted my resume for a freelance gig that I really, really want, but I haven’t heard back. Send positive thoughts, would ya?
As I have little to nothing going on, I think I’m going to spend the day doing some laundry, maybe cleaning, treadmilling, and later on I’m going to bake some dog biscuits for the shelter to sell at Santa Paws this weekend. Perhaps some kitten snuggling is in order as well.
Oh, here’s something. Remember how I spent most of the summer not sleeping because of Meena? I think we’ve finally hit upon a solution. Each night, Meena comes to bed with me (I usually go to sleep earlier than the geekboy). Before the geekboy comes to bed, he takes Meena out and brings her to the office, to her favorite pillow under my desk. She’ll settle right down and, aside from some half-hearted scratching around 5:00am, she doesn’t bother us. The geekboy lets her back in around 7:15am and I have a cuddle with her before getting out of bed. Most of the time, this arrangement works! Factor in my now-regular workouts, and I’ve been sleeping better than I have in about two years.
I’m sure I just jinxed myself.
The kittens are doing well, growing every day. I’ve heard the occasional sneeze, though, which doesn’t bode well. I’m going to give them a few days and if it continues, I’ll get them started on some antibiotics. Ugh. Last night I gave Becks Ashley’s old black mouse, and I’ve never seen a kitten so happy. He’ll play with this thing for hours; we have to take it away from him so he’ll go to sleep. He growled at me for the first time yesterday because my hand went near it. Too cute. He won’t let Posh play with it, and she just sits and sadly watches; every now and again she’ll simply tackle him.
Love.
UPDATE: Just walked into the kitten’s room to visit with them, and the smell of crap hit me like a slap in the face. Someone has the runs…it was…everywhere. It was so gross that I had to put the kittens in a carrier and leave them out in the hall while I cleaned up. At least now I can say I’ve heard them cry.
Help.

I will never stop laughing at the Angry Cupcake.
(I’d send good vibes about the job thing but I have a bit of a black cloud problem right now and I don’t want to screw you over.)

Here’s hoping that black cloud eases up soon, Jen.

maybe the one with the sneezing has the runs? sick kitten! GAH.

Yes, it’s Posh and she’s definitely sick. I’m waiting for the ACO to call me back. I’m at wit’s end. I clean up her and the bathroom, 30 minutes later it happens again. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Oh poor little kitten. Hope it isn’t too serious.

Poor kitty…
Sending all sorts of good vibes your way.

I’m going to pick up some meds for them from the shelter in a little while. The ACO says the poo will probably get worse before it gets better.

This is what it smells like when kittens cry.
