Another Day, Another Sore Muscle

Today’s another busy day. The past two weeks have been a blur of work, recovering from my pinched nerve, and fitting in boot camp sessions when I can. I’m glad to have the extra work right now, but I am EXHAUSTED. This morning’s boot camp was particularly brutal — a session that started out with wall squats and planks, and then moved on to the dreaded building block exercise (I did 90 pushups. NINETY! although not in a row, thank christ). Oh, with an ab session sandwiched in there as well. Mmmm, sandwich.

Anyway, it’s been a long time since I’ve worked my muscles so hard that I literally couldn’t raise my arms over my head anymore. I am terrified about how I’m going to feel when I wake up tomorrow (and do it all again). Tomorrow I’m also driving to Virginia with Lisa to go see U2 in Charlottesville with some local friends. This long weekend — my birthday weekend, actually — is shaping up to be a lot of fun. I may not be able to lift my arms over my head, but I am pretty damn sure I can raise a glass to my lips.

  1. Woo! Cville! I lived there for 6 years – go to Ming Dynasty and order their Vegetarian meatballs – so yummy!

  2. Road trip! Have a great time, ladies, and early Happy Freak-birthday!

  3. Thanks. I wasn’t really looking forward to this birthday, so I’m glad Lisa schemed to get me out of the house.

  4. Charlottesville is pretty. We drove through it once, on our way to you :-)
Sounds like a great road trip indeed! Yay for Lisa.

  5. I am looking forward to seeing some old friends, making some new ones, and spending a few days being carefree.

    And drunk.

  6. I like the way you plan!!
This should be exactly the birthday to celebrate YOU!

  7. Dagnabbit… What in tarnation is this I hear about you not staying for dinner Saturday night? (okay, imagine Foghorn Leghorn or Yosemite Sam saying this…). We have plans for you, and I promise it will be fun…

  8. Well…I’m sure I can be talked into it.
