A New Year
So, how was your New Year’s? Do anything fun? Friends of mine had their traditional party, so Lisa and I braved the ice and rain to bring them some champagne cupcakes and indulge the kids in some American Idol karaoke on the Wii. A good time was had by all.
Yesterday, we went to Matt and Shannon’s for a small gathering, which was lovely. Played with tons of kids and got to hear Glenn & Matt make some music together. Great food, great friends, great time. Again, I brought cupcakes.
I’m really not looking forward to getting back to the old grind, but I am glad the holidays are over. It’s time to get back to eating normally and taking a breather from all the socializing. I’m rather tired.

We had a good one. Spent it with the same people we’ve spent every NYE with since 1989. I’m not a superstitious person normally, but I’m afraid to start a year without these guys. I think the sky might fall down or something.
Seriously, though, I love our NYE celebrations. It feels right to ring in the new year with people I love. I know… hokey. But what can I say? It’s true.

We hosted NYE this year, which was nice and very easy going. We had a lot of sweet and salty nibblies and wine; champagne and grapes at midnight. Jay got a little trashed, so not bad. I still can’t believe we’re back in January again. Ugh.

My hubby and I left the kids with his parents and went to a They Might Be Giants show! John Hodgman was there!

How is the American Idol game for Wii? I’ve thought of getting it but know no one that has it.

It’s okay if you like pop music. I don’t know if the Wii lets you download new songs, either, so it could get boring. The kids love it, though. There are different ways to play — karaoke or competition, etc. The judges are funny.

Hmmm. Yeah, I was wondering about the song list. Sounds like fun though.

It is fun. And there are some fun songs, like KC and the Sunshine Band, and some Bee Gees too. You know, for us old folks.
